COVID-19 Impact on Poultry Production and Distribution Networks in Bangladesh

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected numerous economic sectors across the world, including livestock production. This study investigates how impacted poultry production and distribution network (PDN), analyses stakeholders' changing circumstances, provides recommendations for rapid long-term resilience. is based on a literature review, social media monitoring, key informant interviews ( n = 36) from sector in Bangladesh. These included informants breeder farms hatcheries, pharmaceutical suppliers, feed companies, dealers, farmers, middlemen, vendors. We show that was damaged by pandemic, partly as result of lockdown also rumors their products could transmit disease. research shows hardly any stakeholder escaped hardship. Disrupted transportation, declining consumer demand volatile markets brought huge financial difficulties, even leading to permanent closure many farms. extent damage experienced during first months consequence interconnected stakeholders businesses are sector.
